ALFRED, NY-  The Alfred University women’s basketball team fell 74-56 against visiting Stevens Tech, Friday evening at McLane Center.

The Lady Saxons trailed at half 33-31, but Stevens came out the second half to build on a lead that could not be surpassed, outscoring Alfred 41-25. For the game, Alfred shot 33 percent from the field, 40 percent from beyond the arc, and 50 percent from the free throw line.

Sophomore guard Harley Cleary (Rochester, NY/Our Lady of Mercy) led AU in scoring with 17 points.  Freshman forward Hailey Sick (Dansville, NY/Dansville) scored 11 points and pulled down six rebounds. Junior forward Sarah Federico (Buffalo, NY/Holy Angels) brought down a game-high 13 rebounds, also.

AU (6-18, 1-14 Empire 8) plays Hartwick College Saturday, Feb. 16, at 4 p.m. to conclude the season.
