HOUGHTON, NY-  The Alfred University men’s basketball team lost to Pitt-Bradford in a 75-69 decision, to open the season, Friday evening at the Houghton College Tip-Off Classic Tournament.

The Saxons were led by senior forward Sean Curran (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) by scoring 19 points (team high) and pulling down five rebounds (team high).  Junior forward Jason Ruback (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford-Mendon) had 15 points and had three rebounds. 

For the game, AU shot 65 percent from the field, 28 percent beyond the arc, and 59 percent from the free throw line.

Alfred (0-1-0, 0-0-0 Empire 8) returns to action Saturday, Nov. 16, at 12:00 p.m. against PSU-Greater Allegany to finish out the Tournament.
