Men’s soccer defeated by Nazareth, 5-0

PITTSFORD, NY —The Alfred University men’s soccer team was defeated by host Nazareth, 5-0, in an Empire 8 Conference contest Saturday afternoon.

Rikesh Kotak had one goal and one assist in the victory for Nazareth. Alex Manchev, Rob Faulds, Chris Lofgren, and Raymond Touchstone each netted a goal for the Golden Flyers.

Nazareth outshot Alfred 26-8. Sophomore goalie Elliot Thorpe (Highlands Ranch, CO/ Thunder Ridge) made four saves in goal for Alfred. Ryan Platt (four saves) and Trey Barresi split time in goal for Nazareth (9-4-2, 4-0-2 E8) to earn the shutout.

Alfred (5-8-1, 0-5-1 E8) is in action next on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m. vs. visiting Oswego.
