Alfred University Saxons News
Alfred University’s LeBarron named ECAC Upstate softball all-star6/02/09

LeBarron was one of only 11 players named to the ECAC Upstate all-star squad, which includes players on Division III schools in New York State belonging to the Empire 8 Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC), Liberty League, North Eastern Athletic Conference and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC).
LeBarron enjoyed a record-setting season, one of the best ever in the 16-year history of the AU softball program. She batted .424 with nine homeruns and set new school single-season records for hits (53), runs (32) and RBIs (54). She also became the school’s career leader in hits (130), RBIs (93) and homeruns (18). She ranked fifth in the nation in Division III in RBIs per game (1.42) and 35th in slugging percentage (.784).
Previously, LeBarron had been named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Northeast Region First Team all-star and an Empire 8 Second Team all-star. She helped lead Alfred to a 27-11 record, with the 27 wins representing a new school single-season mark. The Lady Saxons played in the Empire 8 Conference championship tournament for a second straight year and competed in the ECAC Upstate championship tournament for the third time in three years.
