AU women’s skiing team places 13th at nationals

WINTER PARK, CO – The Alfred University women’s skiing team finished 13th in the team standings at the United States Collegiate Ski Association national championships at Winter Park, CO.

The USCSA women’s championships wrapped up Friday with the slalom races. AU placed 12th of 20 teams in the slalom and, combined with the Lady Saxons’ 14th-place finish in Wednesday’s giant slalom, took 13th in the combined final team standings.

Junior Lauren Pfeifer (Livonia, NY/Livonia) was 16th in the slalom, just missing earning Second Team All-American honors. Pfeifer, who was 23rd in the GS Wednesday, placed 12th in the combined individual standings.

Senior Rachel Beckwith (Landgrove, VT/Stratton Mountain) was 52nd in the slalom, while senior Ulana Bihun (Jericho, VT/Mt. Mansfield) was 71st.
