Background

Biography
Kevin Walsh was appointed head coach of the men’s and women’s Alpine skiing teams before the 2001 season.

He has led the men’s team to the national championships in each of his seasons at Alfred and the women’s team to the nationals in two seasons (2001 and 2002). The men’s team placed ninth in the 2001 national championships, the best performance in school history.

During his tenure, the men’s team has won three straight United States Collegiate Ski Association (USCSA) Atlantic Region, Empire Division conference crowns.

A native of Watertown, NY, Walsh is an instructor at Swain ski resort. He as been a PSIA certified instructor for 28 years and is currently a Level 3 instructor.

Walsh holds an associate’s degree in business management from Monroe County Community College and is the owner of KC Builders, General Contractor. Walsh resides in Swain with his wife Anne. The couple has two children.

Athlete of the Week
Tyler Olsen The junior from Saratoga Springs, NY, won two individual races and swam on two winning relays in the men’s swimming and diving team’s win at Fredonia. Olsen won the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle and swam on the winning 200-yard medley and 200-yard free relays.

Athlete of the Week
Hannah Meier The senior forward from Rochester, NY, netted a team-high 11 points to go with seven rebounds and three steals as the women’s basketball team opened the season with am 81-42 victory over visiting Penn State-Dubois.
