Background

Biography
Brian Striker was appointed in 2002 as head coach of the Alfred University men's and women's swimming and diving team.

Striker is no stranger to the Saxons' swimming and diving program. A 2000 AU graduate, he was one of the top swimmers in the program's history, earning All-American certification five times: in the 200 freestyle in 1999 and in the 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle relay and 800 freestyle relay in 2000.

He was a member of the relay teams that hold school records in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and finished his career with 55 dual meet victories. His brother, Todd, is a 2001 AU graduate who was a 10-time All-American swimmer. His younger brother, Brandon, is a 2007 AU graduate who earned All-American honors in 2004.

Striker enjoyed immediate coaching success at Alfred, leading the men's team to its first-ever state and Empire 8 conference titles in 2003. He was named Upper New York State Collegiate Swimming Conference (UNYSCSC) Coach of the Year. The women's team finished second and third, respectively, in the Empire 8 and state championships.

Striker guided the AU men's team to a second Empire 8 title in 2005, when the men's team was runners-up at the UNYSCSC championships. He was named Empire 8 and UNYSCSC Coach of the Year that season. The 2006-07 season culminated with the Saxons claiming their second UNYSCSC title and third Empire 8 championship during Striker's tenure. Again, he earned Empire 8 and state coach of the year honors. The AU men's team went a 10-0 in dual meets in 2006-07, marking the first time in 18 seasons the Saxons had completed a perfect dual-meet season.

Five AU men's swimmers have earned All-American honors during Striker's tenure as head coach and a combined 18 men's and women's school records have been broken.

A native of Caledonia, NY, and a graduate of York High School, Striker earned a bachelor's degree in management information systems from AU in May 2000. Striker and his wife, Ashleigh, live in Hornell, NY, with their son, Calem.
