Background

Biography
Bob Rankl was appointed full-time assistant coach for the Saxons in 2001 and is in charge of coaching the offensive line.

A native of New Jersey, Rankl was a graduate assistant coach in charge of the defensive line for two seasons (1999 and 2000) before his appointment to a full-time post.

Prior to coming to Alfred in 1999, Rankl enjoyed a standout playing career at Division III power Ursinus, where he was a four-year starting defensive lineman.

Athlete of the Week
Tyler Olsen The junior from Saratoga Springs, NY, won two individual races and swam on two winning relays in the men’s swimming and diving team’s win at Fredonia. Olsen won the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle and swam on the winning 200-yard medley and 200-yard free relays.

Athlete of the Week
Hannah Meier The senior forward from Rochester, NY, netted a team-high 11 points to go with seven rebounds and three steals as the women’s basketball team opened the season with am 81-42 victory over visiting Penn State-Dubois.
