Background

Biography
Kristin Suatoni is in her first season as assistant coach for the AU women’s basketball team. She comes to Alfred from William Smith College, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team before graduating in May 2008. Suatoni is also facilities and events coordinator for the AU Department of Athletics. She is responsible for scheduling the use of the University’s indoor and outdoor athletic facilities — the McLane Center, Merrill Field, Tucker Field, Davis Gym and the outdoor tennis courts — and also for coordinating game-day activities for AU home sporting events. A native of Syracuse, Suatoni has experience working at basketball camps and clinics at her college alma mater, as an AAU coach in Syracuse and as a basketball camp counselor and advisor. She served as an athletics event management intern at William Smith in 2007-08 and was a sports management intern for the Rochester Redwings minor league baseball team in summer 2007.

Athlete of the Week
Tyler Olsen The junior from Saratoga Springs, NY, won two individual races and swam on two winning relays in the men’s swimming and diving team’s win at Fredonia. Olsen won the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle and swam on the winning 200-yard medley and 200-yard free relays.

Athlete of the Week
Hannah Meier The senior forward from Rochester, NY, netted a team-high 11 points to go with seven rebounds and three steals as the women’s basketball team opened the season with am 81-42 victory over visiting Penn State-Dubois.
