Activities
Ron Higgins has just completed his first season as an assistant coach for the Saxon Basketball team. Higgins comes to Alfred after spending two seasons as the graduate assistant at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, OH. During his first season on staff at his alma mater, Heidelberg finished 23-6, won the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament and participated in the NCAA National Tournament. He is a 2007 graduate of Heidelberg University, where he was a four-year letterwinner on the men’s basketball team. He was a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree as well as an Academic All Conference selection in 2006. He was the 24th player in the history of the program to record 1,000 points and currently stands 20th on the school's all-time scoring list. Higgins is a native of Vermilion, OH, and attended Firelands High School where he earned All-Ohio, All-District, and All-County Honors. He currently resides in Alfred.
