AU’s Darwyn Cook chosen to attend NCAA FAR Fellows Institute

Darwyn Cook, associate professor of mathematics at Alfred University, has been selected as a 2013 NCAA Division III Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR) Fellow, and will attend the third annual FAR Fellows Institute on October 4-6 at the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, IN.

The Alfred University football team will welcome 80 new recruits when preseason camp opens in mid-August. The new players include a trio of transfers and 13 high school all-state selections, 12 from New York State.

Jordyn Larkins (Rochester, NY/Harley-Allendale-Columbia), a 2013 graduate of Alfred University, where she was a standout sprinter on the women’s track and field team, is one of two student-athletes from Empire 8 Conference schools nominated for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
