The Alfred University men’s basketball team upended visiting Houghton College, 80-61, Tuesday evening in the McLane Center, in a non-conference matchup. With the win, AU improves its overall record to 13-6 and remains 5-4 in Empire 8 Conference play.

Michael Branche The sophomore forward from Schenectady, NY, scored a game-high 21 points (sinking all three three-point shots) and pulled down five rebounds as the men’s basketball team beat visiting St. John Fisher to complete a season sweep of the Cardinals.

Athlete of the Week
Grace Williamson The sophomore forward from Olean, NY, averaged 22 points, 14.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.3 steals and one block in three games last week. She had double-doubles in each game and now has 14 for the season, which ranks her second in the nation in Division III.
